Listening to My Body

Since I did the 10k on Saturday, I’d planned to do a shorter run yesterday.  When I got to the gym, I’d made up my mind to run about 3 miles and then call it good.  After warming up and running for a couple of minutes, I realized my body needed more of a break than I anticipated.  I hopped on the elliptical instead and completed my workout.  Although I missed the amazing feeling I get from running, I’m glad I listened to my body and adjusted my workout – I realized that my body knows what’s best.  I want to keep running for years so a little flexibility in my running schedule comes with the territory.
