Post-run Recovery Protein

As I’ve increased my mileage, I’ve looked for ways to reduce muscle soreness post-run. Thanks to a suggestion from my husband, I’ve found that consuming protein following a run has helped reduce my soreness!  I’m also foam rolling more and stretching quite a bit following my long runs.

One of my favorite post-run meals lately is a protein smoothie:

1 cup frozen fruit
1 cup almond milk
1/2 – 3/4 scoop vanilla protein powder


I’m currently using About Time protein powder.  I love that it’s dairy free and has no artificial sweeteners.
