Swirlgear Ambassador and Outdoor Running Redemption!

I’m thrilled to announce that I am now a Swirlgear Brand Ambassador! Swirlgear was created by Lacie Whyte and offers women quality running apparel in flattering styles. One of my favorite things about Swirlgear is the company’s focus on empowering women by focusing on the strength, style and spirit of women runners. I also love that the clothes are both functional AND very cute. πŸ™‚

I love the great support Swirlgear gives to women runners and I’m thrilled to be one of the company’s ambassadors! I ordered a really cute Swirlgear running jacket but I’m waiting until the Texas summer heat ends before I test out the jacket and write a review. πŸ™‚

On another exciting note, I completed a 15k race this morning sponsored by the Fort Worth Runners Club. It was my first time participating in one of the club’s events and I LOVED it! The race was very well organized – packet pickup went smoothly, the race started on time and there were multiple water stations with both water and Gatorade along the course.

My last outdoor run was the Jalepeno Half Marathon I ran at the end of June. I trained for the 15k on the treadmill because it was just too hot to run outside. I was pretty nervous that I wouldn’t be able to last 9.3 miles outdoors after only training on the treadmill but everything worked out fine. I felt redeemed from the Half Marathon (the heat got to me and the last 4 miles of the half were pretty rough)!

I’ve got another half marathon in about 7 weeks and although I’m a bit nervous, I’m also really excited. Hope you all have a wonderful Labor Day!

  3. Congrats about your swirgear ambassadorship:) They do have great quality apparel! Sounds like you had a fun Labor Day race:) Good luck with your training over the next 7 weeks leading to your next race, being fall at least this time you shouldn’t have to deal with the heat like the race in June:)
