Upcoming races!

I’m excited to announce that I’ve chosen a fall race – a half marathon.  It will be the first race I’ve done since the marathon and I’m a little nervous.  I’m considering signing up for a shorter race between now and the half to get myself “back in the game”.  We’ll see.  🙂  As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I’ve really enjoyed the weight lifting I’ve done since the marathon.  Now I’m slowly adding running back into my schedule to prepare for the half.  I’ll keep you posted on the training and how the combination of weights and running goes.

Do you combine weights and running?

Have you ever done a Halloween race?

  1. I have started teaching body pump class and it is a great total body workout with weights. It’s a nice balance to my running. I have done a 10k Halloween race in VA beach and that is always fun. Not competitive bc everyone dresses in costumes. Good in your training for your half.

Thanks, Lacey! I’ve tried a few body pump classes and they are a great workout. I think my half will be pretty relaxed too since most people will be in costume.

  2. Woot, Woot that is awesome I think its awesome you’ll be training for a fall race!
My sister swears by weights and running, she’s found it has become one of the best cross training things to pair with running. I am yet to jump on it too, but in time I will. I have seen how great it’s been for her!
I have done a few halloween races, and they are a lot of fun. I’ve never dressed up, but I do find them to be very spirited and fun!
    Good luck!
