Shacke Pak Packing Cube Review

I recently purchased a set of Shacke Pak packing cubes and used them on a trip I took with my husband.  (AMAZING trip, by the way.  I will do a post on the trip soon!)  While my suitcase is usually nicely organized at the beginning of my trips, by the end, my clothes tangle up in a wrinkle-filled mess.  I can’t find any specific clothing item very quickly because invariably whatever I’m looking for has fallen to the bottom of my suitcase, underneath everything else.  Since this trip lasted about a week, I really wanted a way to organize my clothes.  I read reviews of packing cubes on Amazon and although I felt a little skeptical that packing cubes would make a big difference, I decided to give them a try.  I chose the Shacke Pak packing cube system based on the great reviews and the size/number of packing cubes in this set.

My set had 4 packing cubes: Extra Large( 17.5″ x 12.75″ x 4″), Large (13.75″ x 12.75″ x 4″),  Medium (13.75×9.75×4) and Small (11″ x 6.75″ x 4″).  The set also came with a laundry bag to hold dirty clothes.  I used the Extra Large, Medium and Small packing cubes for this trip.  The Extra Large packing cube held my “day wear” clothes – pants, shirts, skirts and a dress.  The Medium packing cube held my pjs, gym clothes, sports bras, underwear and socks.  I used the Small packing cube in my carry-on suitcase to hold a couple of shirts and a skirt.  I rolled my clothes before placing in the packing cubes.  The packing cubes held quite a bit and kept my clothes nicely organized.  Once I’d filled the packing cubes, I stacked them in my suitcase (and placed other items around the packing cubes to use up the extra space in my suitcase).

Here’s my Medium packing cube:

Ultimately, I loved how easy the packing cubes made it for me to find my clothes and to keep everything organized.  When I wanted a specific clothing item, I pulled out the appropriate packing cube and found the item quickly.  No more searching the bottom of my suitcase only to find the clothing item wadded up and incredibly wrinkled!  I will definitely use the packing cubes on my future trips.

  1. This is cool. I never heard of this. I am a thrifty packer so this would come in very handy. I’ll have to check out the videos.
