Hello, everyone! A few weeks ago I did a post sharing my tips for successful morning workouts. If you missed the post, you can check it out here. In keeping with that theme, I wanted to share three products that help save me time in the mornings when I’m getting ready for the day after working out.
The first product is Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths. Have you tried cleansing cloths? I love to use them after I work out at the gym because I don’t have to worry about a liquid cleanser spilling out in my gym bag. I use the cloth to cleanse my face and then keep it handy to wipe off any fallout from eye shadow as I’m putting on my makeup. I’ve loved Cetaphil cleanser and lotion for years – the products are so gentle and don’t irritate my super sensitive skin. Also, the cleansing cloths are a pretty generous size so generally I tear the cloth in half and use one half at a time. (I put the unused half in a ziplock bag to keep for the next time I need a cleansing cloth). I buy these cleansing cloths at Walmart Neighborhood Market but they are also available at most major drug stores.
The second product is the Rainforest After Dark Colored Clay Eye and Cheek Palette from Tarte. I’ve heard about Tarte products for about a year on my favorite YouTube channels and read great reviews on blogs. As mentioned, I have really sensitive skin so when I learned that Tarte products do not contain mineral oil, parabens, phthalates or triclosan, I was intrigued. I chose this palette because it has eye shadows (including two really beautiful purple shades – my favorite!!), bronzer, blush and a highlight shade. I wanted to try bronzer and was looking for a matte blush – this seemed like the perfect combination of products I needed. I love everything about this palette! The colors are gorgeous and since everything is together in one palette, I don’t have to waste time hunting through my gym bag to find a blush, bronzer and highlighter. I’ve learned that the less time I have to spend digging through my gym bag to find my makeup, the more time I have to actually apply the products. 🙂
I’ll do a complete review on the Tarte palette soon but if you’re curious, I HIGHLY recommend it. Definitely one of my favorites!
The third product is Not Your Mother’s Clean Freak Refreshing Dry Shampoo. Dry shampoo is like a secret weapon. Seriously awesome. I use it to add volume to limp hair and to freshen up my hair in between washes. If I’m doing a hard core running session at the gym, my hair gets pretty sweaty and the only solution is washing. With pretty much any other exercise, my hair doesn’t get very sweaty and I can use dry shampoo to quickly get it looking fresh. I hold the can about 12 inches away from my head and spray the hair around my face and at the crown. Don’t worry if you see white powder on your hair! Wait a couple of minutes and then gently distribute the product through your hair with your fingers. Magic!! I also spray a little dry shampoo on my hair before I exercise to proactively combat any sweat that may arise. Some dry shampoos have a really strong fragrance that gives me a headache after a while. If you run into similar issues with dry shampoo, I recommend checking out the unscented dry shampoo by Not Your Mother’s. It works really well and doesn’t give me a headache. As a bonus, Not Your Mother’s products are currently on sale at Ulta (buy one, get one 50% off). Just sayin’.
