Super Shoulder and Abs Workout

Lately I’ve tried to focus on adding supersets and/or compound sets to my workouts.  Supersets are a combination of two or more exercises that do not use the same muscle group, performed right after each other with little or no rest.  Compound sets are a combination of two or more exercises that use the same muscle group performed (yes, you guessed it!) right after each other with little or no rest.  I decided to try a combination today – combining shoulder exercises and supersetting those with ab exercises.  I really liked how the workout turned out and wanted to share the workout with you!

Super Shoulders & Abs

Please listen to your body and take breaks as needed!  The exercises should be challenging but should not cause pain.  When I do compound sets and/or supersets, I will often drop my weight a little.  Pay attention to your form and choose a weight that allows you to perform the exercises slowly, controlled and with good form.  If you have any questions, please let me know.  Please consult with a medical professional before beginning an exercise program.

  1. Thanks for this! I will have to try it. I am always looking for other ab routines.

  2. I will have to try this. I am horrible with shoulder workouts, but I know it is good for me. 🙂

Thanks! Honestly, shoulders used to be one of my least favorite body parts to work out but now that I have incorporated a variety of shoulder exercises into my shoulder workouts, I really enjoy shoulder day!

Definitely going to use this for my next workout. I love supersets. And being back from Miami, this is just what I needed.

Thank you, Mai Lyn! I love supersets too. I keep my heart rate up and can fit in more exercises. Miami sounds awesome! 🙂
