Hi, everyone! I’m excited to announce that I’ve started a YouTube channel. I plan on incorporating more videos into my blog posts and I’d love to hear what you think. I’m hoping that my YouTube channel can be a place where I share my health and fitness journey with you and learn more about your health and fitness journeys. Support is crucial to our success in maintaining healthy lives and this will be a great opportunity to learn from each other. I’ll also be adding other topics to the channel – things I love like makeup, health and fitness product reviews and travel. Please subscribe to my YouTube channel so you can stay up to date with my videos! Continue reading
Hello everyone! I decided to try something new with this blog post and share a video! I’ve received a few questions from friends and family about my makeup and I wanted to share one of my favorite sources of beauty products with you – Ipsy bags! Continue reading
I recently had the opportunity to review the SLS3 Dual Pocket Run Belt and wanted to share my thoughts on this amazing product with you! Continue reading
Did your New Year’s Resolutions include training for a race or getting a faster running time? I find that having a race on my calendar really helps motivate me to run on days that I may not feel like doing it. Races are fantastic for many reasons but it can be difficult to find a race that fits your calendar and the distance you are willing to travel. Sound familiar? A virtual race may be just the answer! One of my resolutions for this year is to spend a few minutes doing my hair and makeup most days. I’ve felt a little low in the confidence level lately and realized that when I take some time to do my makeup and style my hair, I feel much more confident about myself. Please don’t misunderstand, I am a firm believer that the quality of our heart is more important than the color of our lip gloss. I love Margaret D. Nadauld’s talk “The Joy of Womanhood” and her emphasis on developing divine qualities. I especially this quote:
“Women of God can never be like women of the world. The world has enough women who are tough; we need women who are tender. There are enough women who are coarse; we need women who are kind. There are enough women who are rude; we need women who are refined. We have enough women of fame and fortune; we need more women of faith. We have enough greed; we need more goodness. We have enough vanity; we need more virtue. We have enough popularity; we need more purity.” Continue reading
Happy New Year!! I hope that your holidays were filled with family, friends, love and great memories. I had a wonderful time and am so grateful for the opportunity to spend time with loved ones. Continue reading
I recently purchased a set of Shacke Pak packing cubes and used them on a trip I took with my husband. (AMAZING trip, by the way. I will do a post on the trip soon!) While my suitcase is usually nicely organized at the beginning of my trips, by the end, my clothes tangle up in a wrinkle-filled mess. I can’t find any specific clothing item very quickly because invariably whatever I’m looking for has fallen to the bottom of my suitcase, underneath everything else. Since this trip lasted about a week, I really wanted a way to organize my clothes. I read reviews of packing cubes on Amazon and although I felt a little skeptical that packing cubes would make a big difference, I decided to give them a try. I chose the Shacke Pak packing cube system based on the great reviews and the size/number of packing cubes in this set. Continue reading
If you’ve read my most recent blog posts, you know that I’m loving having weights be the largest part of my current workout routine. In order to keep my exercise routines interesting, I’ve spent a lot of time on social media (Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, etc.) “researching”. Well, it started as research – how to do exercises correctly, count macros, superset and balance weights/cardio. Pretty quickly though I found myself comparing my body to all those #fitspo and #fitfam posts … bikini competitors … fitness models … Continue reading
I’m excited to announce that I’ve chosen a fall race – a half marathon. It will be the first race I’ve done since the marathon and I’m a little nervous. I’m considering signing up for a shorter race between now and the half to get myself “back in the game”. We’ll see. 🙂 As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I’ve really enjoyed the weight lifting I’ve done since the marathon. Now I’m slowly adding running back into my schedule to prepare for the half. I’ll keep you posted on the training and how the combination of weights and running goes.
Do you combine weights and running?
Have you ever done a Halloween race?
I mentioned previously that since the marathon, I’ve taken a break from running and have concentrated on strength training. Today I wanted to share one of my favorite glute/leg workouts that I’ve done this summer. Continue reading
